King David and Michal - A Story of Love and Heartbreak

In the brief moment of the relationship between David and Michal, we see how young and in love they were but a robust individual separated them for several years. King Saul, was rush crazy over the loss of God ' s favor and he knew he would evade the sphere to his former juvenile - in - charter, David. Next they were married, Michal warned David that his life was in danger because of her father Saul.

David fled to Nob and then Adullam, and during this time, -... Saul had given Michal, his daughter, David ' s wife, to Paltiel the son of Laish, who was from Gallim - ( 1 Samuel 25: 44 ). While David continued to escape from Saul, he took two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail, the widow of Nabal. We can only imagine how much David and Michal grew apart for almost a full decade, but even though God blessed David with a new kingdom and many wives, he still desired the presence of Michal.

- So David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul ' s son, saying, - Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines. And Ishbosheth sent and took her from her husband, from Paltiel the son of Laish. Then her husband went along with her to Bahurim, weeping behind her. So Abner said to him, - Go return! - And he returned - ( 2 Samuel 3: 14 - 16 ).

Even though David never divorced Michal, and even though she ' s been comforted by another man, David never forgot her nor the price he paid for her hand. I personally would have left it alone but it ' s no secret how much David loved women. No matter what the reason, Michal was a changed woman. - And as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul ' s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord: and she despised him in her heart - ( 2 Samuel 6: 16 ). They argued over this and David neglected intimacy with her, - Therefore, Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death - ( verse. 23 ).
